Prayerful Greetings from Bishop’s House, Rajkot!

Let me take the liberty to introduce myself to you. I am the Bishop of the Diocese of Rajkot in Gujarat. The Diocese of Rajkot comprises 8 Districts of Saurashtra & Kutch. It is a vast aria of 109,950sq.km. In size it is more than half of the state of Gujarat. Educationally and Health Care it is an undeveloped area. So the diocese with the Mother N.G.O Navjeevan Trust is engaged in a big way in Education and Health Care and developmental activities.

We have over hundred Dispensaries and Mobile Clinics in the remote villages of Saurashtra And Kutch. We give care and support to around 2500 HIV/AIDs patients in 6 towns namely Rajkot, Bhavnager, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Kutch and Surendranager. We give counseling to the patients and their family members and the neighbouring people. Again we have 6 ten-bedded hospitals exclusively for AID patients namely Rajkot (2), Jamnager (1), Kutch (1), And Surendranagar (1) who are in need of hospitalization. They are provided with free treatment with the help of funding agencies. We try our level best to bring health care to remote villages where there is no health care facility. Now a days people are in need of advanced treatment.

Although we have a good net-work of primary health care facilities we don’t have any hospital for advanced treatment. So we have decided to have full fledged multi-specialty hospital in Rajkot which is the geographic capital of Sourashtra. It is a rather big city. So we have planned a Referral Hospital called Christ Hospital with some 500 beds. In the first stage we will have 150 beds. The construction is already started. One wing of the Christ Hospital will be set apart for the treatment of AIDs Patients.

As you know a modern hospital with facilities for advanced treatment involves huge financial investment. I enclose herewith the brochure of the Christ Hospital. It is self explanatory.

As Christ Referral Hospital is public institution for the health care of the public especially for the economically backward people in the society we appeal to the public for financial support. So we take the liberty to appeal to you to help us with a onetime financial assistance to put up this Referral hospital in Rajkot. It will definitely benefit the enter people of Saurashtra & Kutch. If you need more details we would be only happy to provide.

We would be ever grateful to you for any help you provide. So I request you to consider our request favourably.

With my high regards,

Yours most sincerely’

Gregory Karotemprel CMI
